Biancaneve
Hey there Maura. In a fit of RH good-old-days nostalgia, I just stalked you here from your profile on ff.net, and had to leave a note to say how much I loved this. I always really admired the poeticness of your RH prose stuff, so it figures your actual poetry would be something special.
Even to someone like me who knows *very* little about art, the whole idea of this poem is wonderful, and I really love the last lines - “the world is a museum/ and we’re in separate wings / there’s no exhibit on earth that could hold us both.” *applauds*
I couldn’t figure out how to leave a comment on the “poetry” homepage, but also wanted to say that “Zebra in a Zoo” is my absolute favourite of all, though it almost made me cry. So cute and so sad all at once. The line about her wanting to become a carousel horse! Just awesome.
Looking forward to poking around and exploring your writing here some more.
